Bravo One Shift Bellows

I have been experiencing a leak which causes my bilge pump to activate every 15-20 minutes discharging a fair amount of water. I have found some pretty significant tears in the shift cable bellows. I assume at this point that is the cause of my problem.

Can anyone advise if the volume of the leak is consistent with taking on this much water. Also, assuming this requires replacement, what should the average cost be? I have heard this is one best left to the professionals as some specialized tools would be required, and that it involves removal of the lower unit.

One other question: Does anyone know who the manufacturer of horns would have been vintage 1999? Mine has a white cover and is appx 5 3/4" long. I have been having a hard time locating one this size.

Thanks,

Keith

Yep, its time to replace your bellows. Allowing water in will cause other problems & may lead to a sunken boat. R&R cost should be around $300 but while the outdrive is off you may as well service the gimbal bearing etc along with your trim switch if it doesn't read properly.
