Alpha Gen II Drive Coupler

Hello, all. I have been boating with Mercruiser Alphas since 1996. This is the first year when I went to winterize that the mechanic mentioned the engine coupler grease fitting. I checked my rear output shaft and found the fitting, so I pumped in an entire 3 oz tube of Mercury 2-4-C grease. The mechanic says this is supposed to help the drive coupler live longer. Well, here is hoping.

Best regards,

Captain Steve

Great. I squirted too much of the wrong kind of lube into my coupler. Sheesh. Hope it still works in the spring time. Somebody please tell me it will be OK.

Gidday Capt Steve, give the guys at Mercruiser a call (or email), they are always very helpful.
If anyone can let you know if it will be ok, it will be these guys. At least you will be getting info from the Horses mouth eh?
