4.3L what's this this fluid bottle??

Hi folks, new to this forum and a new 2003 SX18 owner. When viewing the engine compartment, front right side above the power steering unit is a container and not sure of the fluid type/weight or what is it suppling fluid to? Seems to drain fairly quickly but not seeing evidence of a leak. Appreciate assistance.

If you are talking about the outdrive gear oil reservoir and saying it 'drains quickly'... you have a problem. If you let the level get too low, you will have an alarm start going off every time you start up the boat.

I'll assume you are referring to the reservoir in the top right of my photo below? Note yours may be mounted further forward than mine.

Uploading photos on this site is a PITA. You need to click on "Go Advanced" when replying, then scroll down to "Manage Attachments" and when the little window opens click on 'Choose File' and once chosen then "Upload" and close the little window and then click on 'Reply'. There are size and file type limits here which also cause issues.

In any event, if you have a 4.3 I cant think of any other reservoir that would be on the right side of that engine other than the outdrive gear oil reservoir. It needs to be kept topped up and checked regularly.

Just as something further... if you are on Facebook, join both of the Mariah Owners groups on that site. Its far more active than this forum is.
