Delay when going into neutral

Hello everybody, this is my first post here and I am just getting used to the website so apologies in advance if this has been asked before.

Myself and my brother have just purchased a Mariah 215 Davanti and so far the only issue we have come across is when putting the throttle from either Drive or Reverse into neutral, there is a long (10-12) second delay until neutral is engaged and the propellor stops spinning. This has caused some issues when coming into the marina and I was wondering if anybody else has encountered the same issue/have any ideas of how this can be fixed?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks

Sounds like you need to either adjust or replace your shift cable. Here's a link to a site that shows you how to adjust the cable; How Do I ... ( The Original ) : MerCstuff.Com
