throttle control replacement
Hello all, relative new here and very new to owning my own boat. The boat is a mariah shabah 200 (1996). The boat runs really well and needs minor cosmetics. When I took it out I felt like the throttle was a little shake, out side plastic came off. I zipped tied it on for the rest of the day but am looking for a replacement( can be aftermarket). Has anyone done this and can anyone recommend a replace model that they like?
Thanks Sal |
Re: throttle control replacement
I am assuming you had the original 3000 series throttle control? If you did, mine did the same thing. Everything started falling off or coming apart. I replaced my entire throttle control and shift cables in one. I went with the Quicksilver Remote Control Panel Mount Gen II MPC Finger Release. Had to get the new 'latest' and greatest shift cables but love it. All of the slop in the throttle is gone, shifts perfectly. Hope this helps!

Re: throttle control replacement
Where did you purchase your replacement throttle?
I need a new throttle for my 1996 Mariah 201 Talari. |
Re: throttle control replacement
I recently replaced the old 3000 quicksilver with the the mercruiser gen II that was mentioned above. I purchased it from the local boat shop, they assisted with the right cables (I brought them in).
I took the old cables out and left weed whacker line in place to pull the new lines through. It cost me about 600 dollars with the 2 cables. The job took about 5 hours. I am trying to dial in the acceleration now. I have a 1995 Mariah Talari z240. |
