Clunk noise when shifting

I have a 2001 Shabah 182 with a 4.3 liter V6 and alpha 1 drive. When I shift into reverse there is a clunk sometimes when shifting to forward. Is this normal or do I need to adjust something or is it something I need to get replaced. Thanks if anyone has an idea.

I had a very similar issue. Your upper unit for your outdrive may be defective. That was the issue with mine.

Re: Clunk noise when shifting

Your Alpha One drive has a dog clutch which tends to make a clunk when shifting gears as opposed to a Bravo drive which uses a cone clutch which is silent when shifting.
