Need advice... none of my rocker switches are working
I just had a tune-up and a new ignition coil installed.
Dropped it into the water after getting it back from the marina and none of my rocker switches are functioning. My gauges work fine. Stereo works fine. Water/Air temp works. But no lights, blower, bilge, acc switches, etc. Any suggestions? Could this be something as simple as a fuse? Would this have anything to do with installing new plugs, wires, cap, rotor and ignition coil? What are those fuse-looking things located at shin level on the captain's side? Any thoughts would be most appreciated. Thanks! Rick |
Re: Need advice... none of my rocker switches are working
Update:
I changed all fuses under the dash. None were blown but I changed anyhow. Also, I replaced the negative battery terminal connection along with connections on the 3 other wires that connect to it as they were all pretty tired. Still, none of my switches are working. Anyone have suggestions? I'm at a loss! |
Re: Need advice... none of my rocker switches are working
That's frustrating. Can you get under the dash an follow the positive and negative to their respectable places? That's odd it would go from working to not at all...
Do you have breakers on your Mariah? |
Re: Need advice... none of my rocker switches are working
I do have a breaker panel mounted on the right side below the dash. What should I be looking for? None appear to be tripped.

Re: Need advice... none of my rocker switches are working
Since the breakers are okay might be a good idea to pick and end and start there. Like from the switches to the battery or battery to switches. Are your battery terminals clean and are the connections in good shape? Goes the same for the connections to the switches. I just did a similar trouble shoot on and 89 cabin cruiser. It ended up with all new switches and a lot of new wire. The 12v line to the switches looked good but had corroded to the point it was not working...
