This may be old news ( Mariah molds for sale)

I had thought that all the 25 foot and larger Mariah molds were destroyed my Challenger back in 2002. I recently discovered that they continued producing four models of these boats up to and including 2008 as the Challenger FPS (Family Performance Series). The models that were still being produced were the Z302, Z250, 252 Shabah and the 245 Jubilee. Of course they changed their names slightly, but even that was not to far off ( FPS 302/252/250/245 ). There were not a lot of changes ( other than interior cosmetics ) to any of these boats. The Jubilee is practically untouched. These molds are appearently for sale and I thought some of you might be interested.

Also,a while back some of you were looking for swim platforms. These boats came stock with a platform that has a leading edge to fit the angled step on the stern of the Mariahs. There may be a few of them available somewhere. Wake towers that will fit some of our boats should be available as well. Hopefully I'm not a day late on this, I was already a dollar short.

Just food for thought.

This is a bit of old news, Challenger went out of business in 2008. The entire factory was liquidated by an auction company. I made a posting of this back when it happened, not sure if the photo links still work (damn work firewall)... If they don't, let me know and I'll upload them.

The interiors were changed quite a bit, but the biggest change were the prices. I believe the list price on their Z302 model was around $120k. If you try searching for them on any boating classified website, you'll find only a handful of the FPS series with extensive searching. Challenger sold high performance speedboats and tried to break into the "family line" market by taking an already expensive boat (Mariah), making the interiors look cheap, and jacking up the price.... Hmm, perhaps maybe a reason they didn't sell any and had to go belly up? :shakehead:

Hey Chris,

Thank you for the reply. I actually found your older thread after WetWilly posted this thread for me. As usual, I was a day late along with the dollar short. I wish I could have gotten my hands on those molds, I would love to bring back the Mariah classics.

Thanks again,

Darrell

Found lots of info and tons of pictures and pdf catalogs from Challenger at this site below. Challenger acquired the original molds of the Z302 and a few of the other larger Mariah boats. They went out of business I think in 2007-2008. Enjoy.

Does anybody want to open up a boat building business here in St AUgustine. Luhrs/Mainship closed up their shop about a year ago and this facility is sitting empty.
