ECU/COMPUTER 94 Z212 Volvo Penta 5.8L
 

I have been searching and looking for a new ECU for my 94 Z212 Shabah with no results. Mine was water logged in storage due to a flood and is ruined. I have tried my local auto parts store with nothing along with local dealers and parts shops. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. My Boat has a Volvo Penta Single prop outdrive with a Ford EFI 5.8L 351V8 1994. You can reach me via e-mail [email protected] thank you!

Another option might be this info from our Vendors list:

-Mariah "Mark 8" Multifunction Display Unit
This unit is controlled by a computer chip. One of our members has a copy and is willing to share.

MikeyT's info regarding the Mark 8 computer system is for something completely different than the ECU for the VP engine. The Mark 8 system was meant to show air and water temperature, trip odometer, things like that.

Your best bet is either ebay, an online VP parts distributor, or a service facility capable of working on VP engines. DO NOT try and use an automotive ECU, as they are completely different.

I just learned that the file he has isn't what I need, I have tried e-bay in the past with no luck and I know the automotive field will do me no good. The one option I found was through a local Napa, they said they could send it out to be cleaned, repaired and tested but with no promise that it would work 100%. Also they said it could possibly be damaged while trying to be repaired so it sounds more risky than anything else. I have also contacted a VP parts dealer and he said the last time it was available was 5yrs ago and sit down for this one the price tag last known was $3k. So after spitting out the water I was drinking I am back to square one. Tomorrow I will pull this thing out and grab a part number. It has a Ford Part number on it yet it changes somewhere in the number to where Ford has no clue how to find it either.... Crazy enough my friend cross referenced the number and the closest he found was a Mazda Navajo but I never tried it because the Navajo has a 4.0V6 and there's no way it would work for a V8.

Ok guys I need help big time here's the part numbers off the ecc. I really need one bad or I'm not really sure what else to do besides sell the boat. Part number: F4FF-12A650-KB If any other info is needed let me know and I can post up. The motor is a 94 Ford 5.8L 351 with EFI I ecc was water logged due to flooding. Thanks guys. It actually says eec on it not ecc or ecu but either way its the main brain for the motor....

Wow, you do like to throw a challenge out there don't you. Just kidding, sorry you have this problem, I've been searching the net and can't find this part anywhere. You could try these guys Used Boat Parts, Used Boat Parts & Accessories, Boating Accessories, Used Boats, Used Marine Parts - Rancho Marine Recycling - Rancho Marine Recycling
Maybe they will have what you need. The only other suggestion would be to convert the 5.8L to carburetor which would be a big project but do-able.
