Bimini Cover

Hello,

I am looking for a Bimini type cover and frame for my 1999 Mariah 182 bowrider, can anyone let me know if an original cover and frame was ever made and if so, is anyone selling one, preferaby in the same blue colour as the other two covers for the boat?

Thanks very much,

Gary

these posts are clearly quite old...and comparatively of course, I am quite new...i hope to finalize some fun in the next day or two, which will result in a nice shiny 2006 SX19 arriving on my driveway..well for a short time before it hits the water anyway! small challenge in that it appears to have lost its Bimini top, what is a guy to do, when his girl has lost her top? Any guidance?
thanks

I've got the same deal here, trying to get set up by spring, and most members like iboats.com, or overtons. Iboats, show a great sale, and free shipping now. They also match the style you need right to your model. I'm going to give them a call to clarify if it mounts to the boat, or the top of the windshield rail (thinking I'd rather mount to boat) Otherwise you just need the basic measurements of your boat, and you can pick one from Overtons as well. I do like the option to upgrade to SS, and you can get the matching SS strut brace kit as well with Iboats. Good Luck

Re: Bimini Cover

FYI....

Bought one from ANP in Canada for my '96 Shabah 180 last year. Then bought my '97 210 Shabah LE and liked the Bimini enough to get one for my '97 (Just installed it yesterday). ANP had the best price I could find and the quality is as good as anyone else. (Be sure to get the "sunbrella" fabric and support poles).

These are aftermarket and don't attach to the windshield like the originals that came with the boat(s). And I like them better anyway as I drive with my right knee in the seat (turned backwards). With the original tops, you have to sit down and has no headroom.

I got the 36" tall by 6ft 3 bow style.

thanks both, i guess i have a great deal to learn, as if you hadn't guessed, first boat...and clearly this is not like a car, where you just seek out the local dealer and buy a replacement...is it?

I put a bimini top on my Z272 that I got from iboats. It was tan and made out of Sunbrella. You can see some pictures of it Posted under Summer Fun At Paris Landing. My Bimiini is 8 foot long. Hope this help GaryG:wink_thumbup:

I have rolls of the original Mariah topping vinyl that they used for bimini tops, bow and cockpit covers. You would have to find a canvas shop to sew it up. If you have the frame most shops can make the cover. If the frame is gone there are after market bimini tops available from Taylor Made, Carver, Attwood and others.

thanks all for the input, starting to build a picture now,
Chuggins2000, i don't have any of the parts, so unless somebody is trying to move one on second hand, I guess its aftermarket. I see that the tops come in different sizes, what criteria would best be used to decide which size?

For the width you measure where the frame will mount to the upper deck. For the height measure up from where the frame mounts to the upper deck and make it tall enough so that you can stand up under the bimini and have some extra head room.
