A supercharged 454 with 700 hours? It's already overdue for a rebuild so I would be suspect.

The ad isn't particularly clear whether it was just the outdrive or that 7.4 supercharged motor & outdrive that was rebuilt last season. If the motor wasn't then yep, i would think twice before considering it given that many hours.

I took it to read as the outdrive was rebuilt. Which makes sense as that's really pushing a Bravo III for all it's worth. I wonder how long the supercharger has been on the boat.

I read it as the outdrive as well.... But who knows.... If you are in the market, it would be worth a phonecall at least. Just found it interesting because you don't see a lot of them.

Confused, pictures look like turbo not supercharged????

Definitely supercharged. Superchargers are driven by the engine (usually by belt) and turbos are driven by exhaust pressure.

I personally would steer clear, but that's just me. If you want to know more, visit some of the offshore forums and read about those who've supercharged their 7.4L MPI's... Without strengthening the majority of the engine internals, it's a ticking timebomb... Now if they did it right, it wouldn't be much to worry about. However judging by the smashed K&N filter, and some other telltale signs in the photos, I don't think they thought about the internals too much. My guess is at 700 hours, that engine's probably getting really close to rebuild time. If someone wants to take the time and rebuild the engine properly with high strength internals, this thing could be a real monster and could last a long time. However if somebody buys it as-is and doesn't do anything to strengthen the engine, it might not last that much longer.
