Glad to hear you got settled on a vessel! For being a boat from 1993 I'd expect some issues just because of age. Address the few things and enjoy a fun summer.
I had a 21' SC21 with the 4.3. Put a 4 blade prop on her and we had zero issues zipping around the lake at 40-45mph and we are at 5000' of elevation. Power to weight ratio on that open bow 18' boat should suit that motor well.
