New Mariah Owner, 1995 182 Mariah

Just picked up my new toy last Friday...took her for a spin this weekend! So far so good!

1995 Mariah 182 w a 4bbl 4.3L V6...i think the owner said she has 205HP...310hrs on her...not sure what kind of Mariah she is...she has a SS 21 quicksilver Laser II on her, which i dont think its right for this boat...she takes off a lil lazy to get on plane...but thats why im here, let you guys guide me! Let me know what you guys think.

Such places are a dime a dozen. I've used iboats.com in the past. Lots of choice. You need to decide whether you want to spend the extra $$$ on a S.S. prop or stick with aluminum. If you want to learn a bit about prop selection click here and read the STICKYS at the top of the forum.

Looks like you have a Mariah "Barchetta" 182 - 190hp - Follow MikeyT's threads and you won't go wrong :D

Thinking of purchasing the Smart SX tabs as most of you guys here recommend...any recommendation on the 60# or 80# shocks for this 18ft v6 boat?

I think the website recommends the 80#s but few say that might be too much

Re: New Mariah Owner, 1995 182 Mariah

I have the same boat with a 19" prop. It came with the smart tabs on it with 80# shocks. It jumps on plane fast. The smart tabs were set on the stiffest setting. I'm going to adjust it to the lowest adjustment hole this weekend and see what the difference is. WOT was only 4600 rpm, I have been reading that it should be closer to 4800 rpm. So I'm thinking if I change the adjustment it should help with the rpm. A lot of people seem to be switching or starting out with the 60# shocks on a 18' boat.

Here is my 1995 Barchetta with new interior. We are on the St Lucie River in Stuart FL. Brackish water so have to keep it on the lift. Love the boat though.
