Welcome to MOC Tony! :)
Not real sure about what water pump you are referring too. Is it your washdown shower pump you are talking about? Wiring diagrams are available to contributing members Tony. Here is the benefits that come with your paid membership. If you are interested in becoming a contributing member , you can access the link here. Once again , Welcome!! |

Hallo Larry,
many thanks for your mail. I have join the paying members now. Where would I find the Manual and wiring diagram for the 260Z series? By the way, you are right about the pump. It is the shower and tap pumps that are out of use. There is power to the swith in the galley but both pumps are not working. I can not see a fuse in the cables. Tony |
Re: Mariah 260Z
Tony ,
Go to "Original Mariah Manuals and Supplements" forum , then go to the 4th page , at the bottom of the page is the wiring schematics. Could be the pump is just stuck. Try tapping with a wrench and see if it will fire up.:wink_thumbup: If you have power to the switch , do you have power out of the switch? Check ground wiring! Grounding issues are a constant on a boat. Corrosion is constantly effecting connections. |
Re: Mariah 260Z
Welcome Tony. Can you explain which water pump you're referring to? The one for the sinks, or the one for the transom shower? On my Z280 to run the water pump for the sinks, you need to flip the Water Pump breaker on the DC side of the electric panel in the cockpit, and then over by the sink on the port side, there is a small black switch marked "Water Pump" that has to be turned on before the pump works. Have you checked that?
The fuse panel is located in the aft cabin storage compartment on the carpeted wall divider. is hidden behind about an 8" x 8" piece of carpet secured with 2 screws. |
Re: Mariah 260Z
Tony,
There is also a pressure switch mounted on each pump that shuts the pump off when the system pressure reaches the specified pressure. If you have power to the switch near the galley sink then the problem is not the fuse (breaker). Most likely the bearings in the pump have seized, the pressure switch on the pump is bad...or you have a bad ground. There is a separate breaker for the swim platform shower pump, make sure it is turned on and make sure the black switch on the shower pump is turned on. With respect to the bearings inside the pumps, I had to replace mine. The manufacturers use inexpensive, unsealed, steel bearings. I replaced them with sealed, stainless steel bearings from an online bearing company (VXB). Instead of 34 cents per bearing they were $7 each...but I will never have to touch them again....and it is much cheaper than replacing the entire pump. |
