odometer not working
 

I have 1999 Z201. the odometer is not showing distance traveled.
What are possible causes?

First off, welcome aboard! Second, problem sounds like a failed or corroded circuit board located under your dash. I'm assuming you have a Mark VIII so here's a link to the manual.

If you do a site search for "circuit board" you will find a number of threads discussing them.

Are you talking about the hour meter?
I've never seen a boat with an odometer...other than one built into the GPS

Yep, Mariah's Z series boats had an odometer/trip meter, water temp gauge etc as well as an automatic note sending system that could tell your spouse you wont be home for dinner.... ;)

wow! that would be totally useless for me.
If the tide was running my boat would be clocking up miles without moving and as for the note sending thing,
I just hope that's a one way thing! last thing I need is having the good woman calling me in for dinner when i'm out playing with friends....... how embaracing....:whip:

Unless someone ripped off the little paddle wheel on the stern. That's what happened to mine. The only thing in mine that doesn't work.

mine has never worked perfectly. at best it shows some distance traveled after a long day. i use the gps for that
