Hello Help

Hello All,

I Am Making My First Cuddy Purchase This Week...

96 Z215.....Mint

The Thing I Am Concerned With They Put A Chevy 383 Stroker Long Block In It...(40 Hrs)....
I Am Going To Put A Fresh Water Cooling System On It, It Has A Brand New 4 Barrel Holley On It....

?????

It Hesitates When Getting Onto The Throttle..

Is It To Much Engine For That Boat?

Should I Avoid The Purchase Due To That Size Engine?

Should There Be A Power Fuel Pump Intakes?

Thank You In Advance.

Re: Hello Help

Mariah offered the 350 mag as an engine option for the Z215 in 96, so I think it'll be OK.

The Mercruiser 383 stroker is a fairly common engine replacement for 5.7L & 7.4L engines. It's got 350HP and weighs the same as the 5.7L, since it's built on the same block. I'd say it might be a good buy, IF the engine is a true marine engine, a Mercruiser made with all marine parts. If it's not a Mercruiser walk away... You don't want auto parts in a boat. Automotive engines aren't built to stand up to the marine environment, and they don't have any of the features like spark & flame control that a true marine engine has. Non-controlled sparks & flames in a closed environment like a boat engine compartment is a HUGE safety hazard.
