Hi everyone, I've been lurking around this site for info on various Mariah models and finally decided to register. I'm currently pursuing a 97 216 Talari with relatively low hours, and will definitely have some questions. Look forward to hearing from some of the seasoned owners who really know these boats inside and out!

Tim

Thanks! Well, I WAS about to purchase the boat I previously mentioned. Went through all the trouble of getting approved for a loan, only to have the <expletive> sell it out from under me. Still a bit irate about the whole thing.

Wow, not far at all. lol. Good luck with the Talari, they are outstanding boats. Twice I've had people ask if my boat is new and when I tell them it's a '98 their jaw drops. :D I've also had an ex Mariah employee approach me on a beach and talk all about working at the plant (I usually boat at Rend Lake which is just north of Benton Illinois, the location of the original Mariah plant).

Welcome. Hope you can find another boat you like even more. Stinks that you can't depend on people.
I was selling a truck a while back, a guy tried to talk me into driving about 2 hours to show it to him, I reluctantly compromised and agreed to meet him half way... he never showed.

Well I'm ashamed to admit this on a Mariah forum, but I found a 97 Cobalt 220 in excellent shape, so we're getting that instead. I'd like to change the name but I know there's a lot of superstition surrounding that whole process. I'll still be on these forums as it seems to have a very well mannered and active community.

No need to be ashamed...the Cobalt is a nice boat too. :wink_thumbup:

ps....now if you had said you were going to buy a Bayliner...... :shakehead:

Cobalt's are very nice boats. I have been a fan of the 360 and the 343 for along time. They do make great boats so we can probably let that slide. But like Mikey said, if that would have been the B word......

+1 for the Cobalt.

Cobalt was on my "approved" list when I was shopping for a deckboat. Couldn't find one in my price range though, but I'm still very happy I found my Jubilee.

Congrats on the boat. This is a great community of boaters... they can't get me to leave.

I think you will be just as happy with the Cobalt! They are definitely high end and seemed to be priced accordingly. I would consider a Cobalt if I were in the market.
