Hi - looking at 1994 190 Talari

Hi,

I am looking at a 1994 190 Talari. I boat on Lake Michigan and other MI inland lakes. I like boat with a decent V (handles some of the Lake MI chop) and freeboard height (I am 6'4"). I would like to review the manuals and promo materials and get any input from current or past owners of this boat?

Thanks!

Welcome aboard Brian. The boat 'manuals' wont help you with anything other than general boating guidelines. The promotional material that we have collected as well as individual equipment manuals etc are available to contributing members on our site. From the brochures there is some basic information i can provide you with: boat weighs about 2350 lbs, has a 30 gal US fuel tank, 27" draft with the drive down, 20 degree transom deadrise and has is a 'semi-v' hull design and came with either a 3.0L 4 banger or 4.3L V6.

Are you looking at a "Z" version of this boat? It will have options such as air/temp readout, windshield defogger & wiper, tilt steering, dimmer switch for the console, docking lights etc. There is nothing particular to watch for with this model boat but since I'm not sure how experienced you are with boats i will suggest checking the electricals on the boat carefully to make sure everything works, look for soft spots in the floor (rot), ensure all of the trim pieces are there (some can be very difficult to find replacements for), make sure the glass is good (VERY difficult to find), check the general maintenance of the boat and above all get it on the water for a water test.

Best of luck with the purchase and let us know what you decide!
