Looking - Future New Owner

Hello All,

Drinks on me!

I have lived in Florida for about 6 years (lived in Wyoming before) and the kids are getting big enough to enjoy boating.

I am looking at 2005 SX25 for 12K. I was hoping for some advice on if this is a reasonable price.
NADA seems to think so!

I have seen it in person, and other than regular wear and tear it looks real nice! 5.0 engine.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks,

GoWest

I'm not really familiar with the new Mariahs but it seems to me that it might be a little underpowered with the 5.0

I thought that too, but the owner says that he tops out about 46 mph, and he also pulls tubes and skiers just fine. 46 mph seems plenty fast for me, any thoughts??

Thanks for the response!

I doubt that it reaches 46 on a GPS but maybe it does on a speedo.

I don't have any experience with the boat you're looking at or any 25ft boat with a 5.0, but it seems like that setup might put you into a similar situation as what we had with our old Well Craft. It was a 19ft runabout with a 4 cylinder engine. It cruised real nice and would hit 35-40 mph, but if we planned on skiing or tubing, it was best only to have kids behind it. The setup made it very difficult to get adults out of the water.
