van the man / searching for a Z302

can any one give me a review on the 302z , 2001 and 2000 , i have a 245 deck boat now, i bought it new, and sold my 222z man i loved that boat...

so my wife likes the open bow and i would like a cuddy, we have little grand kids now, but we are really active on the lake , ski, tube, camp, the 245 is a great boat any thoughts on this...is the 302z a good choice to go to compared to the 245...i have never seen a 302, i just know the only boats i have owed have been mariha... i still water ski and love to have dinner on the boat, i know that it means i will have to buy a 12 year old boat, are they out there in good condition, i take great care of my boat, i am still young at heart...

also any thoughts on boats that have been in salt water?? i live in utah , only fresh water, and never the great salt lake, seems like some of the 302z are on the coast , should i worry?

any coaching will help

I live in Georgia and see lots of salt water boats. In short STAY AWAY from salt water boats. There are lots of issues, unless you have been around them, you would not believe it.:eek_animated:

gear-head, thank you for your coaching, i will keep on searching, i saw a boat 302 in Florida , salt is not good, i have heard that some boats have closed cooling systems so the salt water does not go thru the engin... ?? would you still advise stay away, i am sure it has to raise heck with the gelcoat, i did talk with a guy that had to replace his engine and out-drive because he bought a boat that came out of salt water... hard lesson to learn, one i do not need.

i will keep you posted on my search

Closed cooling is good for the engine. If you have ever spent any time on the coast, the salt is in the air and every part of the boat is exposed. Every screw, nut, bolt and wire connector. Its just unbelievable the issues the salt creates!:eek_animated:

Thats enough for me, i will make sure it has never been in Salt water, i have seen all the rust that comes from salt on the roads in SLC.
Thx,

There's a pretty good looking 275 (Mid Cabin) in Vegas.

2001 Mariah 275 SST 27.5'

Probably a Lake Mead/Powell boat, i wouldn't mind taking out on Deer Creek, Jordanelle, Rockport, Utah... (old stomping grounds of mine), heck any lake for that matter.
