First Boat - 2000 Mariah Shabah

Just purchased my first boat 22' Mariah Shabah with 5.7 Mercruiser. I live in San Antonio but purchased a lift and slip on Canyon Lake.

Boat is a beauty! Black and white. Needs a little polish and wax to shine it up a bit but overall in very good condition.

I plan to add a tower and a new sound system in the coming weeks so I'm sure I will be doing a lot of research and probably make a build thread once the project gets underway.

I've grown up loving cars and have owned a bunch over the past years, now it's extremely exciting to get into and learn about an all new hobby. I work in new home sales for Ryland Homes here in Boerne. I've done that for the past 4 years. Previous to that, I was in school at the University of Texas at San Antonio for Finance.

I hope to potentially meet some fellow Mariah owner's over the time.

Thanks. Done.

Surprised I didn't see more fellow Mariah owners in the San Antonio area. There are plenty in Austin.

I'm just seeing a new member (princessmariah) who is in your area and also boats on Canyon Lake. Given her model of boat, you two wouldn't happen to know each other would you? :)

Haha. Yes. That is my mother-in-law.

I didn't realize she had registered.

My father-in-law and she went in half with me and my wife (their daughter).

I live out by Medina Lake which is about a twenty minute drive northwest of San Antonio. Medina Lake is very low right now (really low), so we will be taking a few trips to Canyon Lake this summer since Canyon Lake has plenty of water in it.

I have a 1999 Z212 Shabah that we got last summer and we are beyond thrilled with it.

The person we purchased this boat from used it at Medina. We went out there to look at it and saw first hand how low Medina is right now. We could even see a fence that must have been constructed before Medina lake existed that is now exposed.

Maybe we'll see each other sometime out there on Canyon.

Medina Lake is down 53 foot which is around 20% of it's capacity. This is the lowest it's been since the mid 1950's. It's scary as to the amount of stuff that is sticking up everywhere.

Hopefully we will see you sometime out on Canyon Lake which is only down 7 foot. It's about a 2-1/2 hour trip one way for us to Canyon Lake from here. I'll try to remember to PM you here when I know we are going so we would have a better chance of meeting up.
