New owner - 1999 Z182 Shabah

So, I took the plunge, bought a 99 Z-182, 4.3L, a mere 210 hours, but some sun fading and the two captains chairs need to be re-upholstered...very minor...but what does concern me is the glove box...I can probably re-cover the vinyl lid part, but is there any chance of finding the wood grained piece anywhere???

I don't think so, But it would look good if you just did the same thing to both probably. Congratulations on the new boat! Welcome aboard.

Welcome aboard. Zack has pretty much hit the nail on the head. Your chances of finding another glove box door to match are somewhere between slim & none. Checking ebay and our own Marketplace are your best bets.

I think he had a good idea in covering it with the same color vinyl...

The glovebox lids and woodgrain stuff was all made by vacuum formed ABS plastic at the factory. The only way to fix it is to repair the cracks using either plastic welding, or some sort of chemical filler that'll bond itself with the existing stuff. Then you'll need to sand it down, and have it recoated. Water Transfer Printing is an option to get the woodgrain you need laid onto the plastic, but it's pretty pricy. Woodgrain vinyl is a temporary fix option, but for curved and molded pieces, it gets pretty tricky to keep it looking good. If you decide to go that route, let us know how it turns out!!

I think I'll try glue first and if that fails, I'll go grey/off white vinyl.

This sure looks like the boat I just bought from Sizzle Marine in Columbus Ohio. I think it came from Pennsylvania, if so let me know
