1996 190 Shabah w/4.3LX

Hello to the existing members of the Mariah club and may you all had an awesome summer!

I purchased my boat just a couple of months ago and were loving it. Noticed two things about the boat that someone may help me with?

1. I'm not sure of the gas tank size for my boat and the gas pump I go to doesn't look to that accurate. Any ideas on the size of the tank?

2. While driving slow and in calm waters the boat tends to go back and forth from Port to Starbourd as if I am over steering but I'm not. Is it normal for this boat to perform this way?

Cheers,

Mark

Knotty,
can't give you an answer about the gas tank but I can offer a suggestion on the bow sway. Put on a set of Smart Tabs and that problem will go away.
I just installed them on my R18 and they made a huge difference. Up on plane quicker and rock steady at no wake speeds.:wink_thumbup:

Fuel tank capacity is 28gals. Most sterndrives will 'wander' at slow speeds. I would consider installing a set of Smart Tabs on that boat which will reduce the wandering, help get you onto plane faster, hold you there longer at slower speeds and provide a bit of extra stability at higher speeds. Do a site search for 'Smart Tabs' and you will find numerous threads on the subject with approx a 90% approval rating on what they can do for your boat.
