probably a huge upgrade
Hi,
I do not yet have a Mariah boat but have a good offer for a Shabah 250 in England. ( model year 2000 ) I was looking in particular for the cockpit dimensions , since I am thinking about replacing with a back to back chair on the board side. ( I have a small 18ft. Stingray Bow rider with back to back ) I believe it will be a huge upgrade for me . Long time I was looking for a Stingray 230 SX but I image the Shabah 250 might be better in terms of rough water conditions and available room . best regards Norbert from Bavaria P.S. I hope to get access to the manuals. |
Re: probably a huge upgrade
Welcome aboard Norbert. Yes, going to a 250 Shabah from an 18' Stingray will be a 'huge upgrade' but you are getting one nice boat! I dont think we have the cockpit dimensions available so hopefully one of the members will chime in with that information.
As for the manuals, that question is asked by most new members. Please read this 'sticky' by our Admin. |
Re: probably a huge upgrade
The supersport seating option was the only configuration available for the 250 Shabahs. The pedestal or bolster mounts have custom placed metal mounting plates attached in the floor in the exact location where they attach. I would HIGHLY recommend you not replacing the pedestal or bolster seats with a back to back seat. Not only would it not look correct at all, it wouldn't mount securely, which will cause damage to the interior fiberglass, and most importantly, prevents the rear seat from tilting forward for access to the engine compartment.
I believe the pedestal seats can swing around backwards. Someone will have to confirm that though. If you want driver pedestal and back to back on passenger side, you will need to look at a 238 or 218 instead. On a side note, I came from a 180 Sea Ray to my Z250. The jump may seem big, but all you need is a day on the water getting used to it. Just make sure and put your bumpers out. :) |
