Z280 Mariah 2000

Can anyone give me an idea of the original price of this model Mariah? It has the 7.4 motor and the Bravo 3 out drive. We purchased it last month, had it shipped to the Okanagan, minor cleanup and servicing and now have it in the water. We're looking forward to an enjoyable summer of boating. Owners manual came with the boat if anyone is looking for information on this model.

Welcome to the board, and congrats on your "New" Z280! If you've got any questions, feel free to ask, we're all here to help!

Original List Price in 2000 was $80,970 (according to NADA).

We appreciate your offer, we have the owners manuals and many other supplemental materials on our site under the Mariah Manuals and Supplements section.

I'm sure you'll have a great summer, and many more to come with your Z280!

Hi Chris,
Thank you for the quick answer. It's a great low hour boat and has been well looked after. We changed the water pump, engine oil and had the leg looked after. Some further cleaning and polishing and we'll have a good summer enjoying it.

Hi Greig,

Hope you are enjoying the new Z280. I have a 1999 Z280 that I bought last year so welcome to the club. Have you noticed a slight port side list while at rest such as at the dock?

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the info on original price. No, I haven't noticed a list but I will have a look when I go down to the boat this weekend. It is slow to get up on plane, (compared to the25' Larson I had) but cruises nicely at approx. 30 mph and 3200 rpm. Does that sound about right?

Hi Greig,
I was just out on the water and my GPS indicated 26 MPH at 3300 RPM. I am turning 22P propellers and have no issue getting on plane. Which props are you using...24P?

I'll have to have a look, I don't know. Bravo 3 leg with stainless but I didn't look at the props. I'll have to take my GPS with me next time out and get an accurate reading.
It is stalling on me just after startup and low rpm in gear. It happened four or five times today. It starts right up after the stall and runs fine after that. Any ideas would be appreciated. 7.4 Merc in a 2000 Z280.

Re: Z280 Mariah 2000

My guess would be carbon build up on the throttle body and or IAC (Idle Air Control Valve) is causing the stalling. Remove the flame arrestor and clean the throttle body where the throttle plate closes against the throttle body with a sensor safe throttle body cleaner. I use an old tooth brush and a soft rag. When you are done...you should be able to eat off it.

Greig, congratulations on your z280.This is our 6th season with our 99 z280 and it continues to be a work in progress.Best addition you will ever make to this boat is an extended swimplatform ,it really extends your useable "play" area.
Our boat has a slight starboard list at dockside. As far as performance we are still tweeking our 2010 454 Mag. GPS and Tach don't jive 33mph @4400 rpm with 22p prop set and bravo 3 drive.Good hole shot with the wife and I on board ,but a real turtle with 4 or 5 (have to put 1 or 2 down below to get boat to plane).I guess it's time to play with prop sets.
