Future Mariah owner? (looking at 2003 19ft)

Hello all!! I am seriously looking to make an offer on a private sale of a 2003 19ft Mariah--it has the 4.3 v-6 engine, and the seller (second owner) claims it's never seen salt water...asking $9500.

I understand from the few posts i've had a chance to read that 2003 was the first edition of the SeaFox series, are/were there any outstanding or recurring problems with this model year?

I rented a V-8 Mariah last summer for a week -- extremely fast.

thanks for any/all information.

Hi, and welcome to the board! You're correct. The 2003 models were the first year Sea Fox took over production, so they still used many of the original mariah parts because they were available at the time. They started changing things up a bit with the 2004 line, things like seating, dashboards, interiors, etc, as the manufacturing costs of continuing the older Mariah style would be very expensive. They're still made with the original Mariah molds. Many people claim they're not as nice as the original series, but don't let it sway you, they're still good boats, and beat a Bayliner any day of the week! If it's what you want, and you can make it happen, I say go for it! :wink_thumbup:
