i feel for ya mate :( We've all had that happen to us at one time or another.

Let's hope it's just the prop that requires repair/replace & that you didn't bend a prop shaft. Does your boat have a built in depth finder? If not, it's a good investment. Not sure if you have depth charts available for the lakes etc that you might boat on but if you can source one they're also money well spent.

Thats terrible news Mayal, I really feel for you, so very dissapointing.
As Mike said, if you can get a chart of the lake or information from others that use the lake, to avoid these annoying problems, that would be a great idea.
Cant wait to see your pics.
Good luck with the repairs mate.

New prop

Hey Dudders, Got my new prop ordered will arrive on Friday to top it all off I bought a second hand one for $100 while we waited for the new one, but only lasted about 10 minutes and then the bush broke because it had been sitting for so long and had to idle back to shore once again . Got my money back for that one. Took boat boat to Mercury for a check up no more damage other than the prop at least that was a win. :wink_thumbup:. I had talked to all the locals on the lake and they could not believe we hit anything where we were just unlucky i guess.. I have charts but no sounder you know what I will be bying for christmas. Cheers Mayal and Nicole

A wise old Captain once told me
"There are 2 types of boaters. 1 that has run a ground, and 1 that will run a ground" I won't tell you which one I am.:head_on_wall:

Hi Dudders and family, How was your christmas and new year. Ours was great we took a crew tubing for the morning and had chrissy dinner/lunch at home. Sorry we have been away and the lap top sh#t it's self. We are going to try and up load some pics tonight see how we go lap top still not good. Anyway the sx18 is just perfect for us. We just finished running her in and got 52 miles an hour on flat water and four people on board, not bad I say. New prop and sounder are just great even got a spare prop sitting under the back seat. Rebuilt the first one. We are off to the Whitsundays on Saturday for two weeks with no kids for the first time in 15 years. Just sun, sand and our beautiful new Mariah, can't wait. The only problem we have had so far is the hour meter stopped working. The dealer is sending us a new one. So to anyone else who may read this, buy your Mariah and buy it now. A belated merry x-mas and a happy new year to you and your family. From Mayal and Nicole.

Gidday Mayal, Happy New Year, going to the Whitsundays on the boat, you lucky bugger, what a beautiful place to spend 2 weeks. For all the "non aussie" Mariah owners, you just got to check out the Whitsundays on google, it is absolutely magnificent, gods own water play ground.
Sorry to hear you had a couple of little hiccups with your prop, but all ok now.
My computer at home s*&t itself also (more like me installing more ram that wasnt compatible and that kind of helped :head_on_wall:)
Take lots of pics and make our American/Canadian friends jealous.
Have fun, talk to you in a couple of weeks. Dont forget to slip slop slap.
