Welcome to the board bajabob, and congrats on your new boat!

Who is the manufacturer of your trailer? Chariot trailers were made by Mariah and specifically for their boats. Finding parts for them might be a little tricky. Other manufacturers might still have the parts available.

If you have access to a digital camera, could you take a pic of what the light looks like?

Another boat like mine.....everyone wants to be like mikeyt !! ;)

I gotta think about that trailer light. I had mine apart this summer & cleaned it but i do know that the light assembly inside is still available. The lens itself might be tricky but i think the mfr did both. I just gotta remember who made them & where i saw them. Unfortunately my boat is in storage already so i dont have easy access to it. :shakehead:

If i end up missing a lens.....i'll know where to find it. :)

I'm not sure how your lights are installed on the trailer, but the other option is to just replace the entire housing with a generic one from west marine. To match, you could just replace both in the rear. They are pretty inexpensive which is why i recommend it.

We bought some older jet skis 2 summers ago and the mechanicals on them were in top condition with the motors having just been rebuilt. The trailer on the other hand was a POS and had none of the convenience features that the new trailers have. The wiring was also pretty sketchy and had intermittent issues. Rather than diagnose each problem, i simply rewired the whole trailer with a kit from west marine for about $40 and a couple hours time.

If you're gonna replace the lights i would consider looking at the new LED units. Much brighter and less load on your vehicle's electrical system.

If it is like mine they are kind of built in the trailer.I found a set at wallmart:yes_grin: I think they are 2 1/2 X 9 not a hard find.

I know this thread is old, but...

I bought a left side replacement light for my 1996 Shabah 180 Chariot trailer at boater's world.

It was an exact match to the brand and model that was on the trailer. I don't have the packaging anymore, but I remember it cost me around $20. West Marine didn't have the same brand.
