Please tell me which Mariah this is!
Hello. We are going to look at this boat this week. (http://boise.craigslist.org/boa/1912097902.html) Everything we have read sounds great so far. Can anyone tell me though which Mariah this is? It says limited edition...does that mean it's a 'Z'? We are having the owners send up more info and pics, but wanted to hear from you too.
Any pro's/con's or other owners out there with any advice before we look at it? Thanks everyone!:) |
Re: Please tell me which Mariah this is!
Looks nice. At 5K you can hardly go wrong if the photos are real. Of course ask about the motor and why replaced. Since it is listed as a 19 ft - then it 1xx SE Shabah. Decals look and trailer looks like the other limited editions I have seen. Someone will add better info.
I like the colors. Good luck. |
Re: Please tell me which Mariah this is!
Thanks for your quick reply. The owner said the piston seized and they replaced the entire motor. We have the number to the shop that does all the work and plan to call them tomorrow. We really like the look of it too and think this would be a great 1st boat for us. Any idea on whether we can get an extended swim platform too? Have you seen any out there? We have two mastiffs we want to take with us. Thanks again!

Re: Please tell me which Mariah this is!
Get your platform here - the best I have seen if you have to add.
Swimplatforms.com I had one on order and was just about to drop my boat off and Wham - hit some rocks and had to repair my skeg and prop. Kind of killed the budget. I am local in Phoenix to them so about $1200 plus tax in white with local pickup. To your area, probably $1600 or so with crating/shipping. They are great company and if you send in the email request they will reply with a lot of info. They can make any color you want and look in the gallery here -- lots of them on boats. I will be getting one soon -- just not on my original timeline. Hopefully before year end. Here is one from the gallery. - The Mariah Owners Club - Gallery - IMG_0148.jpg |
Re: Please tell me which Mariah this is!
hey Mateo,
I just bought a Mariah back in June. Only difference is mine is cream color and has a 4cyl. Its a SHABA 180SE. Love my boat, you will enjoy yours too. |
Re: Please tell me which Mariah this is!
That is almost an unbelievable price for a Mariah that new. The price is actually so good that I would maybe even pay for a marine survey. Good luck with your decision. It looks like you might have found a real gem there.

I agree about the price....it almost seems too good.

Re: Please tell me which Mariah this is!
thanks for the feedback. we are still waiting for some additional photos and the HIN to look everything up. is a marine survey like the vehicle history report on a car? we did talk to the boat shop that put in the new engine and they have nothing but great things to say about the boat. thanks for all the tips!

Re: Please tell me which Mariah this is!
No, a marine survey involves hiring a marine surveyor who will examine the boat in detail & advise you on what is in need of repair. Cost is your dime.

Re: Please tell me which Mariah this is!
A surveyor is a certified professional who basically goes through the boat with a fine tooth comb. They'll present a full report to you with their findings, recommendations and their opinion. Here's how to locate one.
The Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors®, Inc. - (SAMS®) Cost is usually based upon footage, and usually runs a few hundred dollars. With this being your first boat, it'd be worth it for the peace of mind that it's been looked over by a certified marine professional, and not just the previous owner and some mechanics at the local shop. |
