Hello All New Mariah owner

I receintly bought a 1996 182 barchetta. Read alot about the Mariah line here after I first looked at the boat. After reading and getting to know a little history on the line I decided to go back and buy the boat. I am a highway consultant and spend much of my time on the road so this boat will not get a lot of use. But when home will surely spend a day on the lake getting away from cars roads and people. I have plenty to learn as I am hard headed and tend to do most work on vehicles myself. I thank all of you for the many questions that past post have already answered and for the many more that will be answered. I had this boat looked at by the boat repair mechanic at the marina and he said it was very well maintained. We took it out on the lake and it had problems shifting. Looking at it he found a wire unhooked from the cutout switch and said it would be an easy repair. A good cleaning and hook that wire back up and off to the lake. Towed it from FL to VA ( had to change the axle on the way old axle was too light for boat new 3500lb axle and springs now good to go). The thing about hooking the wire back up being easy wrong still not sure where it goes and found new problems too but so starts my ownership of my new boat and I am sure this will be far from the last problem it will have.

Congrats on the NEW boat. I bought by 96 Talari last August and it has been a learning experinece but any day on the wather no matter how short or full of trouble is still better than a day at work.... Good luck, post photos and boat as often as possible!
