Cold starting my 93 1900Z Mercruiser 4.3L

Hello everyone.
New to owning a boat.We just purchased a 1993 1900Z with a 4.3L Mercruiser/ Alpha 1..This beauty only has 170 hrs on it...Not exactly sure how I should go about cold starting it? Do I leave the throttle alone, do I cycle it a couple times? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mark

Sounds like you bought a very nice Mariah! As for cold starting, i push the throttle down a couple of times then set it at about 1/3 when i turn the key. It usually catches quickly that way.

Thank you for the tip. I will try that this weekend when the wife and I head out. Only been out 3 times since we got it. Each time it seems like it takes a bit to start it but was never sure on how to go with it..Once warm it usually fires right up..

Thanks again

I start mine just like Mikeyt. In Neutral start, drop the throttle all the way down once and pull back til it 'rests' about 1.3 way down from lock, cranks right up and then I back throttle to locked straight up for it to warm up (with blower of course) until ready to head out or tie the line to the dock while I park tow and trailer. No issues.
