just bought a 2000 Mariah Z182
Hi, after much searching I just recently bought a red and white, 2000 Z182 Shabah, it has 130 hours on it and looks to be in great condition.
Purchased it from the seller who lives in PA, he trailered it up to Watertown NY where we completed the transaction. Did not get a chance to water test it but did get lots of pictures and asked lots of questions before buying. I brought the boat and trailer across the border into Canada without any difficulties but I now have a problem I am hoping someone can assist me with. The manufacturers label on the Prestige trailer is unreadable, the specifications have faded away. I did some browsing and believe that the GVWR is 3740 lbs, cannot find anything on the GAWR. If anyone has a Prestige trailer for an 182 Shabah with a legible label and can help me fill in the blanks, I would greatly appreciate it. Greg. |

Just looked on my 1999 182 and there is no info on my tag. My tag is in great shape but like i said no info.

My tag is also in great shape but with the specs missing, looks like the ink used to fill in the specifications did not stand up to the sun and water.
Unfortunately for me, I require this information to be on the tag in order to have the trailer registered. If no one has any information I will just guess at the numbers for the GAWR and the GVWR. I have the tire inflation number off of the existing tires as 50 PSI cold. Did see in the '97 Chariot brochure that the GVWR was 3740 lbs, I am thinking that is actually the GAWR, (the axle rating). Believe that the GVWR would be closer to 3500 lbs, 660 lbs for the trailer and 2600 lbs for the boat plus a little extra. Greg. |
Re: just bought a 2000 Mariah Z182
I had the same problem with the tag on my Prestige trailer. I took a black sharpie marker and colored over the printed areas. Then I took paint thinner (or something of that nature) and rubbed it off right away. The ink went into the slight indentations from when they stamped it and made it legible again. Don't know if yours was strictly printed or stamped, but mine allowed just enough of the markings to show up again.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will try it!
What I originally planned to do was to use a label maker with clear tape and make up my own numbers to stick onto the trailer tag. |

Congradulations on your new purchase! I'm sure you'll enjoy your Mariah as much as we have enjoyed ours!

Hello Skiater. Sorry, I don't have any information on your trailer, but we do have something in common. I also bought a 2000 Shabah recently and have not been able to water test it. I did run the engine, which seemed to purr nicely. LIke you, I am looking forward to the spring day that I can take my boat out and test her. Mine is a 2000 with a 4.3 190 hp and what looks like the original 19 inch aluminum prop. I just had new mooring and bow covers made because the originals were pretty cracked. Based on this site, I expect the boat to run between 45 - 51mph, but will have to see. I may consider the smart tabs and/or stainless prop based on my water test. Looking forward to spring and would love to hear how your new boat works out for you! I attached a few pictures also.

Hi Threejakes,
Can you let me know how current your info is? I'm asking because, back in June of last year, I read a post from another Forum that said the phone was disconnected and if you try their website (http://prestigetrailers.com), it required a user name and password. Haven't tried the phone yet but the website is still the same. WetWilly |
