Hi Scott, welcome to the club!

For stripes, contact member 95 Z240 Talari. if anyone has the stripes, it will be him! To send him a PM, click here.

Just make sure the fuel pump is rated for enclosed engine compartment use. Electrical, ignition, and fuel system components on marine engines are designed and manufactured to comply with U.S. Coast Guard rules and regulations to minimize risks of fire or explosion. Use of replacement electrical, ignition, or fuel system components (auto parts), which do not comply to these rules and regulations, could result in a fire or explosion hazard and should be avoided. Also, many other components on marine engines are designed and manufactured differently from standard automotive parts as many marine engines operate at or near full-throttle for most of their lives. They are also expected to operate in both fresh and saltwater environments. These conditions require numerous special parts.

Re: rebuild 95 barchetta

Thanks for your concern wetwilly, the pump is the factory original replacement marine fuel pump $75.00 I called carter for number . Called mercrusier and they wanted me to cut wires and replumb fuel line to change to the $281.00 aeromotive pump because they dropped carter as a vendor for their engines awhile back. Pulled v6 sunday, electrically how would a v8 swap go? Good lookin out on the fuel pump advice, keep it coming I could use some backup on my first boat teardown.
