2001 Mariah 180 - First Timer

So I am new to the site and the world of Mariah. I have a passion for the water and have been in love with pre '60 and post '03 Chris Craft runabouts but have not been able to scrounge up enough loot to put one in my stable. During my quest for a suitable second, I have come across a 2001 Mariah 180, a Diablo I believe, for a whopping $6900 (includes tandem axle trailer). While I haven't made any intial communications with the (used) dealer, I am very intersted in taking a further look. I appears to be in "very good" condition cosmetically. It has the 4.3 Merc. in unknown condition. Can any give me any advise as to what to look for with this model as far as defects (if there are any)? Are these boats really that good? I have found Chaparrals, Crownlines, etc. for similar pricing but I am drawn to the mystique and overall appearance of this one. Is it worth further investigation? What makes Mariahs that much better? Thanks!!

What makes Mariah better? "They're equipped like no other" If it's a Z model it will have all the goodies they offered. However it's the overall construction that seals the deal: These are really well built boats. Up until the original Mariah went out of business, they offered a lifetime warranty on the hull. It's definately worth checking out.

It's the interior pieces are the parts that are difficult or impossible to find, so custom repair is your option. We do have a sticky on suppliers for many others.

Checking out the the motor (or a merc service dealer) and drive goes without saying, and if the interior is in top shape you should be all over it, assuming you find it to your liking. :)

I'm looking at the same boat up in Winnipeg, Canada, and they're asking $13,900 : P Even with conversion can't beat your price. : P
