About to buy 2000 Jubilee

We are about to buy 2000 Jubilee 20' 5.0 mercruiser. Has upholstery replacement issues and has been out in the weather. We settled on $12,525. Do you think that is a fair price.

Hi marysins and welcome to the club!

I would have to say that without some more information and possibly some pictures, it's difficult to determine a fair price. A boat's condition, appearance and how it's outfitted all affect the worth. As an example, if you go to NADA for used boat prices and select the Jubilee with nothing else, suggested low retail is $8940 and average is $10,170.

As a potential owner, here are some things you need to evaluate:

1) How is the condition of the exterior? (you mention being out in the weather)
2) How is the condition of the interior? ((you mention upholstery replacement issues)
3) How is the condition of the motor and outdrive?
4) Any boat covers, bimini top, Camper canvas?
5) How many hours does this Jubilee have?
6) Does it have maintenance records and is the maintenance up to date?
7) Does everything work?
8) Does this jubilee come with a trailer? Is it in good condition? (NADA's price does not include the trailer)

If you're new to boat purchasing, I suggest seeking a professional's help to have the Jubilee surveyed, and tested in the water if possible.

As well as Mariahs are built and outfitted, a poorly maintained one can become an expensive venture.

Hopefully, yours will turn out to be a good deal after all. :wink_thumbup:

Good luck,
WetWilly

Bought 2000 Jubilee 204 20' 5.0

Well, here I am a boat owner. Need some help. This boat has snaps all around it for a cover I assume. Can this be bought anywhere or will I have to have one custom made? Also needs windshield? Where do I start? How about the original owners manual? Is it possible to find?
You do know the two happiest days of a persons life don't you? The day you buy a boat and the day you sell it. Hoping this honeymoon lasts a while. Thanks!

A myth, perpetuated by those who don't own Mariah's... :D

An OEM replacement for the cover will be difficult if not impossible to find. Your best bet is to visit a local canvas shop and have them make a custom one for you.

As for the windshield see this thread Jubilee windshield

Hi marysins,

Z 202 is correct about the cover and the myth! As for the windshield, I believe your Jubilee has a smoked plastic windshield and if it does, you should be able to have one made up at a plastics fabricating shop. We have a line of shops out in California called Tap Plastics that do work in plexiglas like this. Now if you have the framed glass windshield, that will be very difficult to find a replace.

About the "honeymoon", I've owned several boats over the past 26 years and I can't begin to tell you of all the great times and memories my family and friends have had over the years, priceless! Did I have problems, yes, but the good times far far out weighted the bad. :wink_thumbup:
