Soon to be owner '91 Diablo
Potential first time boat owner looking at a '91 Mariah Diablo with 3.0 M/C Alpha 1 drive. Boat visually looks great inside and out. Engine and drive look incredibly clean. Downside is that for an 18' boat, it is only rated for 6 passengers or 900lbs.
Any concerns/watchouts? Any literature available on these? Parts? |
Re: Soon to be owner '91 Diablo
The '91 is a 18-19 yr old boat so you want to make sure everything (electrical/gauges/trim/tilt/shifter etc) works the way it is supposed to. I would water test the boat and ask to see bills for any recent work if possible.
The 3.0L wont be a fast boat but it will be economical on fuel and will get you from point A to point B comfortably. The 3.0L is considered a reliable engine also. As for parts, you wont have any trouble finding engine/outdrive/gauges or electrical parts. It becomes more difficult if you are looking for glass, trim pieces or Mariah specific pieces but that would be similar to most other boats 6-8 yrs old or older. We have brochures and manuals covering your boat available to all contributing members. Click on "Donate" above and all will be explained. |
