New Mariah 260z!!!

Hello everyone!
Just bought a 1999 Mariah 260z and its missing the helm wheel nut cover with the Mariah ensignia. Can any tell me where to search for this item as well as other original Mariah parts etc.
Thanks

Congrats and welcome to the club, thawk!

Unfortunately, the original parts are quite hard to come by. They'll occasionally show up on eBay, and end up going for a pretty penny!

You may want to check into the Sea Fox Mariah and see what cover they use. The insignia is similar, just has silver around the crest instead of gold.

Good luck and post some pictures when you have a chance.

Hi thawk,

First thing to do is identify the steering wheel manufacture as I believe Mariah did not make them in-house and see if a center cap can be acquired. If you can post a picture of your wheel, we may be able to identify the maker.

If you can get the cap, the second thing to do is, you could wait and see if a shield comes up on eBay but the chances of that are rare and it could cost you a lot of pocket change. On the other hand, you could order a new Mariah Steering Wheel Shield and mount it to the cap as I did. The only issue is, the new Mariah Shield is chrome and not gold but no one seems to have notice yet and it looks better than just a blank cap. If you want to order a new style shield for your wheel, there is a thread in the "Mariah Parts and Collectibles For Sale" forum with shield ordering info.

Thanks Wet Willy,
Here is a pic of the cap and Mariah ensignia I need (missing both). This pic is from a Z280 but same wheel was used on both models. I would like to keep boat as original as possible.

Hi thawk,

Did you ever find a replacement center cap?

Ordered cap and Mariah sheild from Chatlee Marine. I mounted the cap on a 1" piece of wood cut the same diameter as the centre wheel hole and fastened it with a dab of silicone, removable if nessesary.
Thanks

Hi thawk,

Want to get rid of the wood? I think I found the right cap (original, in black) for your steering wheel, it's being mailed to me as I type.

If your interested in it, send me a PM with your address and it's yours. All I ask in return is a post on this thread letting me know if it's the right cap or not.

Re: New Mariah 260z!!!

Hi thawk, Just wanted you to know that I haven't forgotten about the center cap.

Many of the Mariahs came with "Dino" wheels and I just received one of their caps. Unfortunately, the recessed area in the center of the cap for the Mariah shield is about 4mm too small.

I just figured out who makes the wheel we have on our Talari, it's by Uflex and I have a cap on it's way, it should be the same as on our wheel and if so, the Mariah shield fits the recess like it was made for it.

As soon as I get it and confirm it's the right one, I'll ship it up to you ASAP!

Hi thawk,

Something went out in the mail today so keep an eye out for a small white package in the next week or so, depending on how quickly it gets from California to Ontario.

It just might have something for somebody's Mariah.... hint, hint. ;)
