Hey everyone,
I just picked up the aforementioned boat. It's my second boat, first Mariah. Our family has been using an '87 SunRunner 18' Cuddy for a few years. We usually go out 2 families at a time, and do lots of tubing and wakeboarding. The old boat had a 5.0, and as fewer people hang out in the cuddy as the kids get bigger, it's been getting tougher to get on plane! Plus, it's a single-axle (probably 3500 lb) trailer that typically weighs in at 4000 lbs. That's always worried me, and the heaviest duty tires I could find were 1950 lb rated. Also, it turns out my wife really likes driving the boat and thrashing us all around on the tube, but her arms get tired fighting against a single-prop V8 in the turns. We've loved our SunRunner, but there was room for a few upgrades.

So I picked up the Mariah yesterday. It's a 5.7L and should have a bit more power. It has all sorts of bells and whistles I never knew existed in 1991. The tilt column, hydraulic steering, tandem axle trailer, extra hp, open bow and other features will make a huge difference for us.

I'm hoping to learn more about this boat, but have struggled to find any information. I've paid to be a contributing member, but am still blocked from all the resources after several days. Also, this website doesn't work on most of my devices or with most of my browsers. Even with this Firefox browser, I can't get the member map to work. What gives? Is this site obsolete and dead? I hope not...

Anyway, here's a few pics of the new boat. It needs lots of drying out, cleaning and buffing. I also heard a little noise when it was idling, and I'm betting it's a gimbal bearing or a u-joint that needs some attention. Plenty of time to sort that out during this foul weather. Thankfully Mercruiser resources and information are abundant elsewhere.

Welcome to the group! Good looking boat there and I'm sure you will enjoy it next spring! Mariah was the cadillac of boats in the day - well made and well designed.

Tons of great info on this forum, just no people anymore. Search the posts, look at the gallery, download what you can. I wouldn't suggest buying a membership, as this site is hardly visited except by myself and a few other die-hards. If there is something you need downloaded, let me know.

Join the Mariah Owners Club facebook page for much more activity and responses. There are two other mariah groups on FB also which are fairly active.

Thanks Greg! I did tons of research on older boats before pulling the trigger on this one. I agree, it was built quite nicely. I must've had over a hundred saved in my FB Marketplace list before choosing this one. It took a while to purge them all.

I would love to get some downloads. The only claimed source I've been able to find for Mariah manuals is here, and it's effectively behind the paywall. I already paid for the membership, but just can't access the manuals. If you were able to help get stuff for a 1991 2000Z I'd be very grateful.

send a message to MariahMan who runs this site to get your access since you paid. I'll grab a few documents in the meantime.

Couldn't upload full documents because they are too large, but here are a few for your boat.

I really appreciate the help so far. I've sent MariahMan a couple messages, and still no answer. Last I checked, he hadn't been online since December 26th.
