My First Mariah

I just purchased a 1994 Barchetta 182. I had it out the last four days and loved every second of it:). I discovered this site while trying to do research on my boat before purchasing it. I have to say this is a great resource.

Hope to see some of you on the water.

Welcome to the board KSP181! If you've got any questions, feel free to ask. We're all here to help. Enjoy the new boat, and be sure to post some pics in the Gallery!

PS-If you'll see anyone on the water, it'll probably be me, I'm only 100 miles away from you in Cincinnati! :) We've got members ranging all across the US, Canada, and even Europe!

ShabahZ250 where do you go boating? We mostly go to Lake Cumberland. We have a place in Burnside.

I'm an Ohio River boater. I harbor outside of downtown Cincinnati. We took the boat to Lake Norris earlier this year, had a blast, and are planning to get to cumberland either this year, or next year. If I head down your way, I'll get in touch with you ahead of time and we can meet up! How's the boating this year with the water levels down? I heard a lot of the docks & ramps were beginning to open back up.

Lake Cumberland is low but still averages over 90 ft of water. Most of the ramps have been extended. At General Burnside Island the ramp has been widened to 6 lanes to put in so it doesnt't take long to get your boat wet. We have a ramp that is 1/2 mile from our place. It is scheduled to be in the water in two weeks:). If you make it down to Cumberland, let me know and I'll show you where to go. The great thing about Cumberland is that if you want 100 boats to party with, no problem, if you want to go where you see 1 or 2 boats all day, no problem either.

Nice boat you have there!

I can say that because i have a 1995 Barchetta 182

have you notice the low speed turn angle from the hull shape?
slow down and turn left to get a skier or something and the boat leans up on about a 65' angle
really sends the people in the open bow grabbing for rails

I have noticed the sharp angle. The first time it happened, I thought it was going to fall over. It is a fun boat to drive. Straad what prop are you running? I have a 21P. At WOT it is between 4900 and 5000 RPMs. I feel like that is a little high and was thinking about a four blade prop. Any suggestions?
