93 198 Shabah Z Fuse Box

Hey all,

I had replaced all of my gauges the other week and about half of my gauges stopped working the first time we took it on the water. I am wondering if I had blown a fuse possibly. I spent about an hour yesterday looking for the fuse box, but was unable to locate it. I see that there is some sort of breaker panel under the starboard dash. Does this replace the fuse box?

Newer to boating and looking for advice

Thanks!

Re: 93 198 Shabah Z Fuse Box

I always thought z package boats had an added easy reset circuit breaker panel in addition to the fuse panel. My fuse panel is located behind my radio panel, which I have to remove 6 screws to gain access to. It is not in a very easy to get to location and is pretty much mounted to the inner hull of the boat where the wire harness runs along the boat. I would check in a hard to access area for yours I would think every mariah has a fuse panel somewhere around the helm. I however do not have any fuses that run the gauges. Sounds to me like a grounding issue if many arent working all the sudden. Maybe the main ground wire is detached that would do it, or your main 12v power wire. Gauges are fairly simple usually just a 12v power, ground, and the wire that goes to each sender. There will be a 12v and ground for the light bulbs but that is separate and wouldn't cause it to not work. Hope this helps.

There may not be a fuse, perhaps a circuit breaker? Another common problem with the seats are broken connectors at the switches, so check that also.
