New to forum. Help Needed with electrical Issue
Looking for help with electrical issue. '96 Shabah 190
Bilge pump and blower motor not working. No power at blower or switch. No power at bilge or switch. I have inspected fuses under the dash and tested. Power across all fuses. I believe it is an electrical issue as they both just stopped working. Can anyone supply a wiring diagram or give some advice as to where there may be an inline fuse? |

No in-line fuses that I'm aware of. Did you check your ground wires? There should be a ground bus bar above / near your fuse panel and another one mounted on the stern behind your battery. It doesn't take much corrosion to make a ground fail.
Also, i know you said you had 'Power across all fuses'. Did you actually remove the fuses and clean the contacts? I just went thru that with my 180 and that was the problem. All fuses tested good but a bit of corrosion on the contact caused the failure. |

Thank you for the reply. I checked the ground bus bar behind the battery. All of the grounds looked good. I did not see a ground bar by the fuse panel under the dash. I will have to look more closely. In regards to the fuse panel, I removed each fuse, checked the fuse, cleaned the terminal and reinstalled the fuse. Checked voltage across each installed fuse and the readings are all 12V. Any ideas where under the dash that second ground bus bar might be located? |

I'm not sure in your boat but in my 180 it is almost directly above the fuse box.

Re: New to forum. Help Needed with electrical Issue
I had a similar issue on my 98 Shabah 202 a few years ago. My issue ended up being a poor connection on the fuse block itself for the bilge. Just moved it over to the next open slot and all was well.
I made a post on it because I was confused by the 2 fuse blocks I had. Turns out that was normal. |
