Gas guage

Hi New to the group. Just a question. We have a 1996 Mariah Talari. Gas guage is not working. Looking to get a new one here in Manitoba Canada.
What size of gas guage do I need and model # if anyone knows. TIA
Appreciate it.

Re: Gas guage

Its not likely the gauge that is the problem. The problem is usually in the wiring connections at the fuel sender unit and sometimes its a faulty sending unit. Repairing or cleaning the connections generally solves a faulty gauge.

IF you have to replace the sending unit i would suggest replacing both the sending unit and the gauge at the same time. Our boats use a gauge with a 33 - 240 ohm resistance and I believe they are 2" diameter.

Here's an example of a good fuel gauge; https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Here's an example of your fuel sender unit; https://www.amazon.ca/Bosch-SP0F0000...omotive&sr=1-3

And most boating supply shops (ie West Marine or Bass Pro) will sell you an already matched set of the above.
