New Member - Unsure of boat!
 

Hi Guys,

New owner here. Bought what was advertised as an SC21 as a project with a friend, both of us marine engineers! One ex, one still practicing!

However, i'm not 100% sure that she is in-fact an SC21! Was hoping someone could confirm!?

She is currently in Oxford, UK. Her new home will be Christchurch, on the south coast of the UK.

Engine is a 5.0L Mercruiser.

What year?

If you look on the right transom area, you can find the Hull ID number stamped into the Hull. If it starts with "MAB" You've got a boat built by Mariah Boats Inc. from Benton Illinois, and it'll be a boat made up until the year 2002. These are what we refer to as "Original Mariahs". If you've got a Hull ID that starts with "VMH" then that's a Mariah that's built by Sea Fox Boats in Moncks Corner, South Carolina that's made from 2003-2013.

Another area that could be a good indicator is the capacity plate. It's a metal plate near the throttle lever in the captains area. This is usually printed with the maximum passenger load and the manufacturer, and model number of the boat.

She is 1998, apparently!

The number is US-MAB16196A898...

I guess that makes it an original Mariah!

Any ideas wether she is an SC21...or something else?

I'd say that from the 2 photos you included that it is a '98 Z216 model

It is definitely NOT an SC21 as the SC21 was built by Seafox. While it my have the same hull shape as the SC21 that is about were the similarities end. Read into the differences between the pre-2003 and post 2003 and you will get the idea.

Been through and watched videos and looked at photos... they seem to match up!!
