Boat cover for Shabah 192

Hello all.

Been looking for a new boat cover since my old one has seen better days. However, it seems like the 192 Shabah is the black sheep of the family, pretty much every cover company offers custom covers for every Mariah model except the 192. I can find 190 and 198, but no 192.

Any thoughts? I’d like a nice Sunbrella one, and the idea of having one with reinforcement at the stress points is nice.

However, I don’t trailer very far and it would be more of a protection from rain and wind issue than road protection.

I’d like to add that it also seems impossible to find a exact fit Bimini top as well, so I had to measure and do a best guess at that. The Bimini top shows up tomorrow, so I guess Ill see how well I measure things out.

Same answer everyone else gets who asks this question; Custom made is essentially the only good way to go.

How much do custom snap covers and Bimini tops cost these days? What price range am I looking at?

Our snap cover is still in pretty decent shape and may last a few more years.

The Bimini is a different story. 1994 202 Shabah. Previous owner never took the Bimini out of the slot. So it looks to be in perfect condition except a mouse got in an chewed about 3 nice sized holes in it. I could ghetto it and use some white duct tape to cover the holes for the short term, however, we tried to figure out how the thing goes up and could not figure it out. Looks like in may be more of a rain cover that attaches to the front window to get home in the rain, but the snaps don't line up.

It definitely is not one of those high up sun Biminis. Anything after market I get after market would need to fold up so it fits in the Shabah's current POS Bimini slot.

Thanks

I found this for a Binini after market. About $500 https://www.boatcoversdirect.com/pro...3/PG3681UB/87/

Your existing 'bimini' sounds more like a convertible top. The snaps at the top of your windshield should slide (at least mine do) so that they line up with the convertible top snaps.

As for the other, its your money and your boat so spend it as you wish.

I think you are correct on the Bimini actually being a convertible top.

Anyone have and idea what a custom made Bimini to to fit my boat would cost? Also, suggestions as to the best place to buy one?

Snap cover not as important as it is in pretty good shape for now.

Just find a local marine upholstery shop or stop by one of your local marinas and ask who does this work in your area. I did my custom bimini back in 2006 at a cost of $500. I'm not really sure what the pricing is like today.

Since neither of you had a helpful post that was even related to my question, anyone else have an idea?

Being snarky isn't going to gain you any further help here. :shakehead: Just find a local marine (or auto) upholstery shop or stop by one of your local marinas and ask who does this work in your area. A custom made cover is pretty much your only choice.

Snap covers, new Bimini's, sounds like the answer is the same.

I am finding it hard find a place within a decent distance via online search. I am betting there are some smaller craftsmen that work more by word of mouth with the marinas.

Like my prop, it needed a little touch up and the Marina has a guy they take them to fix cheap. Probably a retired welder that is into boats that likes making a little extra money with his equipment and skills.
