Hey all! Been lurking for a short while and decided to join-Bought a 97 shabah 198 se 5.7 merc on 7/11/17; on7/12 the rain came and flooded much of northern il closing the chain-o-lakes for 3 weeks.On 7/12 friend comes over "Lets see the boat".It's in drive next door so he, myself,&my wife go over. Wife steps on first rung of boarding ladder, misses grab rail; falls 12" and brakes both bones on her foot;surgery-screws plates etc.Finally got out Friday w/ wifey for a ride almost 6 weeks later! Love the boat & I have had many my last being a 26' scarab 10 years ago.The quality is there but I'm a little confused about no wood in the construction. I had a sea ray that needed a new floor and it was nothing but 1/2" plywood stapled to stringers;JUNK!! Short of re-doing the front cushions this winter this boat is solid and in beautiful shape for 20 yrs old! Anyway Glad to be here,
