Hello all,

Combing the interwebs for information on my Mariah and coming up short.

She is a 1997 190SE Shabah and I am the 2nd owner. Original owners were next door neighbors and boating friends of my parents. Spent a lot of time on this boat and when it came up for sale a few years ago I purchased it from them.

I just can't seem to find much info on it. Search this whole site for "190SE" and come up with barely anything. Is it that rare? Only offered fro 2 years I know but sheesh...

To add to the confusion Mariah replaced the engine for the original owners right after they bought it with a 1998 model year. So I that makes parts fun...

Anyway, glad I found this place and hopefully I can track some things down.

So far looking for:
Prop suggestions
Why the thing "diesels" so bad when you turn it off (always has)
Wakeboard Tower model/style suggestions
And new this year, the engine will "POP" like its coming back through the carb at anything over 3900 RPM. (already checked timing)

Thank you ALL,

Dave

Hi Dave,

Dieseling and/or misfiring can occur when there are heavy carbon deposits in the combustion chamber or the engine is getting too hot. What is the normal temperature displayed on the gauge? Another possibility is to be using spark plugs with too high a heat range (wrong type). If the plugs look burnt a bit (not dark), try a colder plug (usually a lower number).
