I found this forum by doing a Google search. We are actually thinking about selling our boat :( & were looking at information online. My husband is heartbroken at the prospect. This was & is his dream boat. We became boat owners in 1988 w/ an 18ft Celebrity. After 10 years we thought we might like a cuddy cabin & bought a 23ft Rinker Captiva. Beautiful boat...but my husband was looking a better ride (among other things.) He researched & looked for over a year-actually traveling as far as NJ looking at this particular model (that boat was misrepresented unfortunately.) Then we found our baby & brought it home in a blinding snowstorm. LOL!

We do absolutely love the boat. My husband--an engineer--worked with a local trim shop to make us an awesome full camper canvas. He didn't want the dual "bridges" so they designed removable posts. This is a woman talking so I'm probably not using the proper terminology! All I know is that alone I can put up the camper canvas in 10 minutes & we don't have that second "bridge" in the way all the time. We have screens all the way around w/ zip/closable windows. Door out the rear. We have interchangeable side windows (screens & solid plastic) and also a front insert between the bimini top & windshield in both screen & solid. It almost feels like an all season sunroom!

Unfortunately, due to many recent loses or family & life changes...we fear that we're not going to be able to get away like we used to. We're just in the early stages of contemplating a change  This forum looks like it will give us a lot of great information!

Thanks!

Welcome to the board, and rest assured, you've come to the right place for everything you've ever wanted to know about Mariah Boats!

It's funny you mention you started out with a Celebrity boat, I'll bet you didn't know that Jimmy Fulks, the man responsible for creating Mariah Boats actually got his start as Vice President of Celebrity Boats until 1988, when he left the company and a year later created Mariah Boats Inc.

What a beautiful boat! Sad to hear that you may be considering selling it, but family & life changes are a very good reason. If you decide you'd like to sell it, start by listing it here in our Marketplace forum.

We've got all sorts of information available to contributors, like owners manuals, brochures, wiring diagrams, etc. Click the "Donate" button for more info. Or, feel free to ask as many questions as you'd like! We're all here to help!!

Thanks Chris

Actually, my husband can probably recite the company history verbatim! Being an engineer & very analytical...he researched the company & this particular model extensively. During his research I remember when he had a question about the hull (or something else??) he actually spoke to a former employee of the original plant who had worked in manufacturing.

We have loved all of our boats & been very fortunate to have made the perfect choices at the perfect time! We bought the
18ft Celebrity new in 1988 and when we sold it 10'ish years later it still looked brand new! I really loved the Rinker, but could definitely appreciate what my husband was looking for in the Mariah. It is the "Cadillac" of boats!
