Swim Plateform
I have a 1996 180 Shabah Limited Addition that I just purchased. I would like to add a swim plateform but I am having trouble finding a place that will match the color. My boat is all red with the gold decals.
Thanks for any help |
Re: Swim Plateform
Welcome to the club and congrats on your purchase! I looked around as well and could not find anything stocked (nothing stock about a Mariah) and itbis my understand most people get one custom made at various fiberglass fab shops. Someone chime in if they know one in Minnesota. I saw one one advertising at Trans Form Plus but they a re in Canada. Let us know what you find.

Re: Swim Plateform
John,
Thank you, for taking the time to assist in my search Darin |
Re: Swim Plateform
No problem. If you get a chance post some pictures. Love to see your boat. Do a search in the projects forum as well. I saw one guy on the FB Mariah Club made his own and it was darn nice, but being a shade mechanic myself I will be going to a professional; )

Re: Swim Plateform
I put one on my Z280 last year made by Swimplatforms.com and love it. My boat is white but I believe they will make any color you want.

Re: Swim Plateform
Hudson, if you don't mind about how much was it? I looked at some of the pictures and wonder how they dealt with trim tabs. Thanks for info!

Re: Swim Plateform
Hudson,
Thanks for the info, I looked at that website, I guess I will just have to give them a call to see if they do custom colors. |

Including shipping from Phoenix to NY is was on the order of $2k. According to my wife, the best $ I have spent on the Z280. We love sitting out on the platform and listening to tunes with our feet in the water. I even added a remote for my Fusion stereo on the transom so I can control the tunes from the platform. |
Re: Swim Plateform
Hudson,
Did that include installation? ddegoey13, The place here in Colorado that a member got his done at does do custom colors. Welcome to Mountain Marine Industries - Denver's finest boat repair shop and home of the custom swim platform!. They ship as well and have a few to choose from at there swim platform site www.swimplatformssuperstore.com. I was just going to take mine down, so I did not see that they ship all over, sorry for the confusion. |
Re: Swim Plateform
Firestone,
The $2k does not include installation. |
Re: Swim Plateform
Steve. Does the platform stay out of the wake while getting on plane ? Do you have to go through extra steps to keep it out of the wake?
Your britework is awesome. Mine has none of that. We are going to fab our own rear jumpseats after I buy the dies for that smaller tubing. 1" SS tube for the seat frames. Could you would you get me pics of your tumblr seats ? For my patterns. Do you know what size tubing it is ? 1" ? I'm also going to eventually bend me up a custom platform with 2" SS DOM and then suspend the wood(Purple Heart) inside the frame. PS. Your boat makes me embarrassed of mine. |
Re: Swim Plateform
Brian, the platform does not interfere with the wake in any way. Just dump the throttle and hang on, no extra steps.
By bright work are you referring to the tubing that makes up the rear seat back frame? I'd be happy to snap pics and give you dimensions. Pretty sure the tubing is 1" dia but I will measure this weekend. Your boat has a generator, an inverter and ac, doesn't sound too shabby to me! |
Re: Swim Plateform
It's getting better. It's nearly 20 yrs old but I shouldn't complain because it doesn't look it. From the pics I've seen of yours, yours looks new !
The gen/inverter set up is kicking my butt. I monkeyed around with it last night and still can"t get the AGS to keep cranking till it starts !!!!!! It's been so fricking hot that I can't stay on a train of thought long enough to get anything done. Also, my OCD kicks in and I get side tracked. I actually took all the hose clamps off and turned them so they faced the center of the engine ! AND, I replaced a bunch, $55 worth, because they didn't match. Sad state of affairs. I've got everything out of the boat right now trying to get the pick up tube out of the tank. I broke the dangum roll over valve in the 90 coming out of the tank last night so now I must take the black water tank out to get a clean shot at it BUT the tank is full because someone stole the adapter at the dookie pump at the lake last Sunday. And you thought YOU had issues................. LOL What was the original topic of this thread????? |

Re: Swim Plateform
To be fair, the picture of mine was taken in May when she was first launched. It hasn't been that clean since. What brand AGS and model number do you have. I'll take a look.
