New to Mariah

We have found a 1994 Mariah Barchetta with a 4.3 that we are interested in. Price seems fair for all that is included. My only concern is the capacity. We currently have a 24' pontoon, but since the kids are grown we don't need that much boat. (We used to take a dozen kids to the lake every weekend.) I'm just worried that the Mariah will severely limit us. I know it will be fine for just the two of us, but I'd still like for my family to be able to go out together - all the guys are around 250-280 pounds each - 3 of them and then 3 ladies.:eek_animated:
Any thoughts/input...?

My Z202 has no problems with 4 adults and 5 young teens. It was a little tight but we all made it work.

7 people if thats the old 4.3 190hp may be a bit of a dog out of the hole loaded like that!
You didn't specify if its a 182 or a 192? Either way I believe they seat 7 including the driver. I love the way those old barchetta's look!!
If shes had a re power to the newer 220hp and the price is right id go for it, but thats just me, if I was a millionaire id collect these boats! Lol

Re: New to Mariah

It's a 182

Would love to get a little more information, if anyone wants to chime in - opinions are welcome too!

MAB06841E494 (from the registration sticker)

1994 Mariah Barchetta 182 with a 4.3 LX, also has a Mercury Marine High Five prop #48-815758 A45 19P

It's in pretty good shape for it's age - some minor tears on seats. Floor seems very solid. Includes a matching trailer, bimini top for captain seats (no snap on cover, but has the snaps). Oil is golden. It will come with some toys (skis, tube, etc.).
Seller has an asking price of $5000 - is this a fair amount? What is a good price range for something like this?

I appreciate any info, tips, and advice.

Thanks!

The US coast guard averages the weight of each passenger to be about 200 pounds but don't go by that becuase if you have two kids that weigh about 100 pounds each the coast guard will still probably count it as two people. 1,680 your weight limit should be a minimum of 1,680 pounds (if each passenger weighs 280 pounds) i run my boat at half capacity (6 people out of 12) anything over half you start to lose speed and handling but that's just on my boat (1996 Z 255 Mariah Sabath) and my old 28 sea ray bow rider hope this helped! - Brosnan

Lmao well I am in colorado so it is totally legal! No I added up all the stuff I bought since I got the boat. The spare prop took my total over the top.

I meant to respond sooner, but just been busy. We did get to take it out on the lake a couple of times - great fun! It will take some getting used to, so much smaller than our 24' pontoon (but much faster)!! We ended up giving $3900 for it and all the extras.
