water pump hoses
 

i have a 1998 24ft shaba. how hard is it to replace the hoses going to the water pump. the one hose is not sealing properly. Thanks for your help

The water pump is in an awkward place, all the way at the bottom of the engine bay. I am not familiar with your Z240 but on my Z280 it would not be an easy job to replace the two hoses. I would have to lay ontop of the engine and hang upside down like a monkey. The lower hose is the water intake and it goes from the outdrive to the pump. It is a very stiff hose so difficult to horse around. The upper hose on the pump goes back to the power steering cooler at the rear of the engine and is a pain to get to as well. I guess what I am saying is unless the hose is shot I would not replace. I would try cleaning the mating surfaces and double hose clamp to stop the leak.
